Turnberry’s legendary links is not a challenge for the fainthearted. The Ailsa course straddles the rocky Ayrshire coastline while weaving between the large dunes. Turnberry has many spectacular golf holes none more so than it’s signature hole the 9th. The championship tee, set out high up on a rocky peninsula, is unnerving with a 200 yard carry to the safety of the stone cairn at the start of the fairway. Turnberry has recently opened the Colin Montgomerie links golf academy and Donald Steel has redesigned the Arran course which is now the Kintyre course.
